Middleburgh Rotary Announces Scholarship Essay for MCS Students

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, which has resulted in local students being sent home amid New York State’s attempts to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Middleburgh Rotary Club is happy to announce the creation of a scholarship essay for Middleburgh Central School students who are homebound at this time. The brainchild of Middleburgh Rotary Club President-Elect Jason Dannible, who is a Social Studies teacher at MCS, in conjunction with Middleburgh High School Principal Matthew Sloan, the scholarship essay is open to all MCS students and it encourages students to turn their personal experiences during this difficult time period into an opportunity for written expression. Guidelines for the Scholarship Essay are as follows:

  • Please write a personal memoir documenting how you have coped with the isolation, continued with your education remotely, and been affected by the global pandemic COVID-19.
  • Scholarships are open to all Middleburgh Central School students.
  • 300-500 words
  • Deadline: Wednesday, April 1st at 5:00 PM.
  • Please email submissions to timothycknight93@gmail.com.
  • $100 Scholarship for First Place submission. $50 Scholarship for two Runner-Up submissions.
