Welcome friends of Middleburgh Rotary!
Interested in our events?
Rotary is where neighbors, friends and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change.
The Middleburgh Rotary Club is a service organization dedicated to transforming our community by taking action locally and globally. From striving to eradicate polio in Afghanistan to coordinating the annual Harvest Day Parade in Middleburgh and everything in between, Middleburgh Rotarians are part of an international network of 1.2 million Rotarians who belong to over 35,000 clubs worldwide.
Comprised of bankers, chefs, educators, journalists, lawyers, pharmacists, public officials, programmers, retirees, and anyone who is interested in leaving the world in a better place than they found it; the Middleburgh Rotary Club is an organization that emphasizes fellowship and service projects to strengthen our local community. Rotarians in Middleburgh, New York, have the opportunity to organize local events, volunteer at commemorations, become community leaders, and break bread with each other at our weekly meetings at Mrs. K’s Kitchen on Thursday evenings at 6:00 P.M.
Middleburgh Rotarians believe that we have a shared responsibility to take on the most persistent issues, both locally and globally, in order to promote peace, fight disease, and grow local economies. This responsibility is influenced by several core values, including community, service above self, and Rotary's Four-Way Test.
Middleburgh Rotarians believe that the foundation to a better world is accomplished by first building stronger communities at home. We are dedicated to making Middleburgh a great place.
Service Above Self
Rotary International established Service Above Self as the principal motto of Rotarians worldwide because it best conveys the philosophy of unselfish service.
- Is it the Truth?
- Is it Fair to all concerned?
- Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
- Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?
From Chicago to Middleburgh
Rotary was founded by Chicago attorney Paul Harris and some of his business friends in 1905 as a means for professionals with diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. The Middleburgh Rotary Club, which was formed in 1940, has continued the vision set forth by Paul Harris that “Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves.” Our results in Middleburgh include eight decades of service projects, fellowship, and community organizing. We believe wholeheartedly in the Rotary ideal that “One Profits Most Who Serves Best.” We meet weekly at Mrs K's Kitchen on Main Street, Middleburgh.
