Middleburgh Rotary Announces COVID-19 Scholarship Recipients
The Middleburgh Rotary Club is pleased to announce the recipients of the club’s recently conducted scholarship essay contest that was open to Middleburgh Central School students who are homebound at this time.
Students were prompted to write a personal memoir documenting how they have coped with the isolation, continued with their education remotely, and been affected by the global pandemic caused by COVID-19.
Thanks to the generosity of three anonymous donors, the club was able to offer a $100 scholarship for first place submission and two $50 scholarships for runner-up submissions, which were determined by a committee.
Out of twenty-three submissions: Anna Hooper came in first place for her essay, while Isabel Skowfoe and Lily Davis received runner-up scholarships.
In addition to the three scholarship recipients, twenty other students submitted essays: Juliana Ryan, Allison Hunt, Alannah Weygant, Devin Lacko, Makenzie Terrell, Aidan Martin, Caroline Adams, Bella Henry, Thomas Henry, Brendan Henry, Isabel Phillip, Riley Cronin, Ania Keidong, Lily Rossmann, Shane Smith, Quin Smith, Ben Guevara, Brian Bagley, Lindsey Becker, and Andie Burton.
The Middleburgh Rotary Club would like to congratulate our scholarship recipients and thank everyone who participated in this essay contest.
